A family run estate in it’s fourth generation…

Tranquil elegance meets effortless proximity...

Despite feeling delightfully secluded, Dunglass is within easy reach of Edinburgh and several main road and rail links including Berwick-upon-Tweed just over the English border. Plus, if required, there is plenty of space within the grounds to land a helicopter.

“It is the most romantic sweet place I ever saw”

Robert Burns

Robert Burns paid tribute to Dunglass in 1787 stating “It is the most romantic sweet place I ever saw”. From the rugged coastline and ancient woodlands to the designed landscape that surrounds our historic architecture and 15th century Dunglass Collegiate Church, it is certainly a beautiful setting and peaceful place to enjoy a wide variety of activities and memorable events. Every season has a unique appeal however in springtime there is an abundance of natural colour with daffodils, native bluebells, and rhododendrons signalling the start of summer.

The Heritage

Meet the Ushers

Simon and Joyce have lived at Dunglass together with their children Thomas and Lucy since Simon’s return in 2006.

Their shared passion for countryside living, inspired by travel, music, and culture, fuels their perfect partnership.

This dedication has allowed them to successfully carry Dunglass forward as a thriving, diverse enterprise, continuing the family’s century-long legacy.

Agriculture & Enterprise

The landscape of Dunglass offers a mix of quality Arable and Livestock farming opportunities to promote environmentally friendly farming practices utilising organic matter, reduced cultivations and cover crops for the benefit of the soil, fertility, productivity and carbon capture. With the latest in technology our farming contractors continue to sell quality and sustainable produce to big brand customers located within close proximity to the Estate such as distillers, flour mills, oat processors, ethanol plants and seaports. We understand the importance of sustainable farming practices with the benefit of enhanced biodiversity and habitat management. We appreciate also the importance of preserving our native and rare breed animals whilst continuing to support our local economy with quality and locally sourced sustainable produce.
