Congratulations to Karen and Mike who married at Dunglass on Saturday August 29th 2015. The couple chose a vintage & rustic wedding theme with pastel colours including mint, blush & gold. The marquee was further dressed with tissue pom poms around the perimeter. LOVE lights were set up along with a sweetie table.
In a unique twist, the bride and groom opted for Cheese Wedding Cake – we’ve noticed a growing trend in cheese wedding cakes this year.
The father of the Bride provided a Cogg, continuing an Orkney tradition. The cogg is a small wooden bucket that is passed around the guests who are encouraged to take a small sip. It contains a heated alcoholic mixture.
Starters included Dunbar crab infused with parmesan and coriander accompanied with North Berwick lobster, local micro herb salad served with homemade toasted rosemary and olive bread, and salad of Belhaven hot smoked salmon, served with a saffron dressing and lemon bread.
The couple chose a main course of oven roasted Gilmore’s beef served with wild garlic dauphinoise, ox cheek suet pie, locally picked vegetables and a red wine jus, with classic cranachan topped with a Glenkinchie honey cream for dessert.
We wish Karen and Mike every happiness as they begin their life together.
