2016 Bridal Trends & Dunglass Estate

There’s so many wedding trends for 2016 and our fabulous couples have been getting creative with a range of little personal touches. We’ve hand-picked four of our favourites to share with you.

Backless dresses

Backless gowns have been spotted all over the bridal catwalks this year, replacing the ever-popular strapless numbers. Showing your back is incredibly sensual, yet demure enough to be church appropriate.

Intimate weddings

There’s something about Dunglass Estate that makes it perfect for intimate weddings. Whether it’s the romantic church or the luxurious grounds, 2016 has seen a rise in smaller celebrations. We can do this at Dunglass Estate with intimate ceremonies in the stunning ruined church, and cosy wedding breakfasts in the house, as part of our Intimate Wedding Package.

Contemporary dining

An increasing number of couples are going either for traditional Scottish cuisine, or choosing menus that reflect their family’s heritage. As active members of Scotland Food and Drink and East Lothian Food and Drink. Hickory the catering company that manage the events at Dunglass are committed to providing seasonal, local food, and have even created a special East Lothian Menu to celebrate the fantastic local larder of our coastal region.

Woodland Theme

Woodland-themed florals and décor have been hugely popular for 2016. Think all natural, dense greenery, sticks and foliage. We can display your centrepieces displayed beautifully on wood slices to give a real woodland feel to your décor too.
