Congratulations to wedding belles Kim and Callum who married at Dunglass on Wednesday, 2nd September 2015. Dunglass church was decorated with flowers and lit with lanterns for piper David Lecky to pipe a stunning bride up the aisle.
Following a beautiful service, the wedding party moved to the marquee. The couple chose a pink, white and ivory colour scheme set against floor length white table linen. Centrepieces of glass bowls filled with wild flowers and a sweetie and cake table completed the white and pink theme. Each guest received a Wok Box and cook book as a favour.
Kim and Callum chose starters of smooth chicken liver pate served with red onion chutney and oatcakes and warm goats cheese served on a chilli crostini with rosemary oil and roast vine tomatoes. The mains were breast of chicken filled with Stornoway black pudding and Applewood smoked cheese served with thyme and garlic roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables, and slow cooked belly of pork with braised pig cheek served with fondant potato and pan jus.
Dunbar Bakery supplied macaroons eclairs and cookies.
We wish Kim and Callum every happiness as they start they lives together.

Congratulations to Karen and Mike who married at Dunglass on Saturday August 29th 2015. The couple chose a vintage & rustic wedding theme with pastel colours including mint, blush & gold. The marquee was further dressed with tissue pom poms around the perimeter. LOVE lights were set up along with a sweetie table.
In a unique twist, the bride and groom opted for Cheese Wedding Cake – we’ve noticed a growing trend in cheese wedding cakes this year.
The father of the Bride provided a Cogg, continuing an Orkney tradition. The cogg is a small wooden bucket that is passed around the guests who are encouraged to take a small sip. It contains a heated alcoholic mixture.
Starters included Dunbar crab infused with parmesan and coriander accompanied with North Berwick lobster, local micro herb salad served with homemade toasted rosemary and olive bread, and salad of Belhaven hot smoked salmon, served with a saffron dressing and lemon bread.
The couple chose a main course of oven roasted Gilmore’s beef served with wild garlic dauphinoise, ox cheek suet pie, locally picked vegetables and a red wine jus, with classic cranachan topped with a Glenkinchie honey cream for dessert.
We wish Karen and Mike every happiness as they begin their life together.
This weekend we celebrated the wedding of Oliver and Charlotte.
Guests were treated to fabulous mini canapés, including mini beef Wellingtons, goat’s cheese profiteroles – and the quintessentially Scottish haggis bon bons. The event had a vintage twist, with selected vintage crockery used throughout the day.
The fabulous Naked Wedding Cake was baked with love by Pamela Stirling, the bride’s mother, in her kitchen.
Scotia String Quartet played through the ceremony and reception and Callanish provided evening music. Guests were treated to ice cream from the S.luca Ice cream van, and the wedding photography was by Fern Photography. Linden Flowers provided flowers and centrepieces for the chapel and marquee.
We wish Oliver and Charlotte every happiness.

We’re sure you’ll agree these gorgeous photos taken at a wedding last weekend show off Dunglass at its very best! What you may be surprised to learn, is that they were taken by our multi-talented chef, Scott Lens. Here are some more beautiful photos he took of the day – we’ll have more on the bride and groom soon! We can’t wait to see what Scott will photograph next!
Congratulation to Mr & Mrs Aitchison who were married at Dunglass Estate on Saturday 6th September 2014. They were joined by close family and friends for a Scottish themed wedding using whisky bottles for centrepieces and Tunnocks tea cakes for canapés. Laurie Gray Imaging and Alastair Spence captured the day. Sweet Peas floral design in Haddington provided the bouquets and button holes and High Tide, a two piece cover band, provided the evening’s entertainment along with Giggle box photo booth. We would like to wish Vicky and Ross all the very best together as the new Mr & Mrs Aitchison.
